The Formula for Change

I have yet to find a person who didn’t have a dream. They may not be able to describe it. They may have forgotten it. They may no longer believe in it. But it’s there.” Bruce Wilkinson

Most of us are not where we would like to be in life. We had a dream but no matter how hard we tried to make it happen, we couldn’t get past some obstacles in front of it so we gave up.

Consequently, we settle for a lot less than we could have had or done in our lives. WHY IS THAT!!! HOW DO WE BREAK PAST THIS BARRIER? There is a formula that will enable us to change behavior patterns by changing mind sets.

Every one of us has a set of rules we play by in life. These rules are our set of beliefs. These beliefs are formed by those particular thoughts we chose to invite back again and again until we have created a mind set.

Michael Hicks

These mind sets tell us how we feel about every aspect of our lives and thus determine what our choices will be in every area of our life.

If you don’t like the way you are responding to a particular circumstance, and you can’t seem to change it, it’s probably because it’s at a deeper level than you know how to deal with.

This behavior you want to change started out as just a series of thoughts but they hung around long enough until you believed them. Once believed a feeling is formed and attached to the belief. Now this belief has reached down into our spirit level and the behavior that follows is automatic. Some call the spirit level our subconscious level.

IF YOU ARE DETERMINED TO MAKE A CHANGE, it must first start out as a decision. Once the decision has been made, it must be followed up by consistent and persistent thoughts that match the results we are after.

You are what you are; you are where you are because of what you have allowed to go into your mind. You can change what you are; you can change where you are by changing what you allow to go into your mind.” Ron Wuerch

Continuous and purposeful thoughts are planned and intentional. Putting these thoughts into your mind long enough will produce a belief.

Our minds are like computers, it wouldn’t matter how good or how bad a thought is, if you think on it long enough, it becomes a belief.

So, what once started out as a thought eventually becomes a behavior. By understanding the process by which this happens, we not only change a behavior, we can literally change the course of our life.
